League Philosophy & Design Goals

The Battle Bowl League is built on a foundation of realism, balance, and strategic depth. Our scoring system begins with a full‑PPR model divided by five, creating a “real football simulation” baseline. From there, each position receives tailored scoring adjustments that reflect its real‑world responsibilities, strengths, and limitations.

The goal is simple: Every position matters. Every stat matters. Every player type has a clear identity.

This scoring system eliminates fantasy “cheat codes,” prevents positional dominance, and rewards meaningful football actions. Managers must think like coaches, valuing efficiency, drive‑sustaining plays, ball security, and situational impact.

The Battle Bowl League is designed to:

Quarterbacks (QB)

Identity: Offensive generals focused on efficiency, ball distribution, and chain‑moving.

Relevant Scoring: (Passing is a universal stat for all positions)

Passing Yards (PY5): 0.04 per 5 yards
Pass Completions (PC10): 0.05 per 10 completions
Passing TD (PTD): 0.8
Passing First Down (PFD): 0.05
Interception Thrown (INT): –0.6
2‑Point Passing Conversion (2PC): 0.4
Rushing Yards (RY10): 0.2 per 10 yards
Rushing TD (RTD – QB): 1

Running Backs (RB)

Identity: Ground‑game engines who create yardage, convert short‑yardage plays, and finish drives.

Identity: Steady specialists who convert scoring opportunities.
